Know a bit more about the founder and the rescue itself.
Julie Cronin is the founder and chairperson of the charity and manages the care of all the animals from a facility in Whitechurch. As the aim is to release all the animals, the facility is not open to the public.

Julie is a graduate of UCC and has a long history of working with wildlife. Her love of helping wildlife took a practical turn in 2010, when still in college, she travelled to Durban, South Africa and volunteered at a wildlife rehabilitation centre called C.R.O.W. From there she continued to gain experience and worked in Canada at Critter Care Wildlife Society in British Columbia for a year. This was followed by a stint as a Senior Wildlife Rehabilitator at Hessilhead Wildlife Rescue, Scotland for a further year. Returning to Ireland she worked for the I.S.P.C.A in Longford as an animal care assistant and wildlife rehabilitator.
In 2017 returning to her native Cork to take up a position in Fota Wildlife Park, she established Wildlife Rescue Cork, having seen the overwhelming need for an organisation that caters to wildlife. Although working full time, most of her spare time is taken up running the centre along with the help of a few core volunteers who perform transport runs and rescue animals for the charity.
The team of Wildlife Rescue Cork has since evolved into a bigger team very dedicated to Wildlife and helping as many animals as possible.
